What does learning Italian involve?

The S3 course is built around a number of experiences and outcomes to be covered in all schools as part of the Broad General Education. Pupils develop skills in Reading, Writing, Listening and Talking in Italian.

Having completed the Broad General Education, should pupils wish to continue with their study of Italian into the Senior Phase they will have the opportunity of certification.

Depending on individual progress, pupils will be presented at the following levels: National 3, National 4, National 5 and Higher.

Why choose Italian?

What will you study?

In S3 Talking, Reading, Listening and Writing are the main skills developed through interesting and relevant class work on topics such as Family & Friends, Daily Routine, Food & Drink, Freetime. We make use of a variety of types of resources, including ICT. We learn how to communicate in everyday situations and to express our opinions on topics that interest us.
